How much a logo costs in Chile in 2026 and what it should include

Designing a logo in Chile costs, on average, between CLP 300,000 and CLP 1,200,000 in 2026, according to the quote platform Cronoshare, and graphic designers charge between CLP 20,000 and CLP 60,000 per hour. The difference between the low and high end is rarely about the drawing itself: it is about how much research goes into it, how many proposals you get, which files are delivered and whether the logo is ready to be registered and used across all your channels.

This guide helps you read a logo quote, understand what you are paying for and add up the costs most people miss at first. If you are starting a business in Chile from abroad, the figures are in Chilean pesos (CLP) and the registration costs are set in UTM, a Chilean tax unit adjusted every month.

What you get from each type of provider

"A logo" can describe very different deliverables. Before comparing prices, compare what each option includes.

Branding agency or studioStrategy, logo, versions, color palette, typography, applications and often a brand manual.Paying for a full system when your stage only needs a well-made initial identity.

No option is right for everyone. A venture testing an idea does not have the same needs as a company with a sales team, a vehicle fleet and a presence on three channels. What matters is that the price matches what your brand will have to withstand.

Six factors that raise or lower the price of a logo

1. Upfront research

Reviewing your competitors, your audience and how people search for you before drawing is what prevents a logo that looks like another business in your industry. It is work you do not see in the final result, but it decides whether the logo stands out or blends in.

2. Number of concepts

A basic offer usually includes a single proposal. A custom one presents two or three different directions to choose from. More directions mean more hours, and more chances of finding the right one.

3. Revision rounds

Ask how many rounds the quote includes and what an extra one costs. It is the most common reason a cheap project ends up costing more than expected.

4. Versions and formats

A professional logo needs at least a horizontal version, a compact version or symbol, and positive and negative variants. It should be delivered as vector files (AI, SVG, PDF or EPS) for print and as PNG or SVG for screens. If you only get a JPG, you will run into trouble when embroidering it on a uniform, wrapping it on a vehicle or printing it large.

5. Brand system and manual

Color codes, typefaces, usage rules and applied examples make the logo work when someone else uses it. We explain what it should contain in what a brand manual should include.

6. Rights to the design

Ask for the quote to state explicitly that the final design belongs to you or that the usage rights are transferred to you. Without that, you may face limitations when registering the trademark or switching providers.

Free or AI logos: when they work and when they do not

Searches for free AI logo makers keep growing because the tool solves something real: having an image today, with no budget. To test a name, a trade fair or a personal project, it can be enough.

The problem appears when that logo becomes the face of a business. These tools work with common patterns, so the result may resemble existing brands in the same industry. That makes it harder to stand out and can complicate registration. They also rarely deliver the system you need later: versions, clean vectors and usage rules. If you start that way, at least run a search in INAPI before printing anything.

The cost almost nobody adds up: registering the trademark

A logo does not protect you on its own. In Chile, trademarks are registered with INAPI, the National Institute of Industrial Property, and the fee is 3 UTM for each class of goods or services. With the October 2026 UTM (CLP 72,151), that is CLP 216,453 per class, plus publication in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial).

There is an order that saves money: first check that the name is available, then design, and register last. Paying for a logo for a name another company already registered is the most expensive way to start. We explain it step by step in how to register your trademark and logo in Chile.

What to ask for in the quote

  1. How many initial concepts will be presented.
  2. How many revision rounds are included and the price of an extra one.
  3. Which logo versions are delivered: horizontal, vertical, symbol, positive and negative.
  4. Which formats are delivered: editable vector and screen files.
  5. Whether it includes a palette, typefaces and usage rules, or a brand manual.
  6. Who owns the final design, in writing.
  7. The delivery time and what information you need to provide.
  8. Whether the price includes taxes or the withholding on a fee receipt (boleta de honorarios).

With these answers you can truly compare two quotes, even if their prices are very different. If one is cheaper because it delivers less, you will now see it.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a designer charge for a logo in Santiago?

Published reference rates for Chile range from CLP 20,000 to CLP 60,000 per hour depending on experience, and the average cost of a logo from CLP 300,000 to CLP 1,200,000. Santiago has the largest supply, so you will find prices across that whole range. Compare by scope, not just by price.

Does a logo include a brand manual?

Not always. Many logo offers deliver only the logo files. If other people will apply the brand, such as printers, a sales team or whoever runs your social media, ask for the manual as part of the scope.

How long does it take to design a logo?

It depends on the research and revision rounds. Some basic offers deliver in one business week. A custom identity project usually takes several weeks, because it includes conversations, proposals and adjustments.

Do I need to register the logo, or is the name enough?

You can register just the name (word mark), just the graphic (figurative mark) or both together (mixed mark). Each option protects something different. We help you choose in our registration guide.

At Origami we design identities that start by understanding the business, in Spanish or English. You can see brands we built in our portfolio or read how we work in strategy and branding.
