How to make your brand stand out in the age of AI

How to make your brand stand out in the age of AI. Creating an image, writing copy or testing an idea takes less time than ever. That opens up possibilities for businesses. It also raises a question: when everyone has access to similar tools, what makes a brand recognizable?

The answer starts with the business: its experience, its way of working and the people behind it. Design expresses those differences. Technology can support the process, but it needs a clear direction.

When communication becomes interchangeable

Try covering the logo on your latest posts. Could they belong to any business in your industry? Phrases such as “innovative solutions” or “quality and commitment” say little without an example. An attractive image alone does not explain why someone should choose you.

This can happen with a template, a stock photograph or an AI-generated asset. The problem arises when the tool determines the message and the business adapts itself to an aesthetic anyone could use.

What the 2026 trends suggest

In its September 16 analysis, Adobe highlights emotional connection and human experiences as a relevant creative direction, emphasizing visuals and stories with personality and context.

The Sprout Social 2026 Content Strategy Report finds that surveyed consumers want brands to prioritize human-created content. Its research includes more than 2,300 consumers in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia, alongside 1,200 marketers. It is an international reference, not a study of the Chilean market.

Our interpretation for businesses is practical: invest in original material, specific messages and visual decisions connected to what you do. These reports inform a discussion; they do not guarantee results for an individual brand.

A recognizable identity needs shared principles

The logo is one part of the system. Typography, colors, photographic framing, video pacing and writing style also matter. When these elements follow a common idea, a brand can adapt to a website, a proposal or a reel while retaining continuity.

Before production, define who you want to reach, what they should understand and what evidence you can show. Translate those decisions into brand guidelines your team can use, giving each new piece a clear starting point.

Photography and video that belong to your business

Your team, premises and working processes provide information that generic imagery cannot document. A planned shoot can capture customer service, products, spaces and details of your craft, with framing suitable for different formats.

For Clínica Veterinaria Macul, Origami's work included visual identity, brand guidelines and photography. Showing the team at work connects the clinic's image with the people and services behind it.

For Coldwell Banker Los Trapenses, our collaboration includes social media planning, content and video production. This allows us to consider how videos relate to posts and brand messages. Explore work for both businesses in our portfolio.

How to use AI with creative direction

AI can help explore approaches, organize information and develop initial drafts. Set out what it can generate and what must come from a real source. A conceptual illustration serves a different purpose from a photograph presenting a team, property or product.

At Origami, we use digital and AI tools as part of the creative process. Selection, review and consistency still require decisions. Having more options makes it even more necessary to know which ones serve the project.

Five questions to review your communication

  1. Does the first screen of our website explain what we do and who we help?
  2. Do our photographs show our current team, premises and products?
  3. Could people recognize our posts without seeing the logo?
  4. Do our messages include examples that support our promises?
  5. Do our website, social channels and proposals share an identity?

If several answers are unclear, gather your materials and identify what is missing. You may need to organize existing applications, update photography, define content topics or review the identity. The scope depends on the problem you need to solve.
