HAS YOUR IMAGE
FALLEN BEHIND?

When to refresh your company's image: five signs to help you decide.

Your company adds services, improves its processes and starts working with different clients. Yet its sales presentation is still years old. The website shows outdated photographs and every Instagram post seems to belong to a different era.

That mismatch deserves a review. A logo's age alone is no reason to replace it. The question is whether your image still represents the business you run today and helps explain what you offer.

1. You spend too long explaining what your company does

If every meeting starts by correcting a mistaken impression, review your presentation. A service name may be outdated, images may highlight a secondary activity, or your website's main message may be too broad.

Before redesigning, write one sentence describing who you help and what you do. Compare it with the first thing a visitor sees on your website. The gap may reveal a communication problem that a new logo alone cannot solve.

2. Every channel looks like a different company

Open your website, a quotation and your latest social posts. Do they share colors, typography, photographic style and tone? A brand can adapt to different formats while retaining its identity.

Without shared guidelines, every new piece starts from scratch. It may be enough to organize your applications and create a brand manual for everyday use, keeping the elements that already work.

3. Your photographs show a chapter you have moved beyond

Your team has changed, you have renovated your premises or your products have new packaging. If your photographs do not reflect those changes, you are showing an earlier version of your company.

Planning a shoot helps define what you need to document: people, spaces, products and work in progress. Consider website framing, vertical social formats and sales materials too.

4. Your materials are difficult to use

A logo that becomes illegible on a phone, tiny text in posts or templates that cannot accommodate your content are practical problems. Review them at the sizes and on the media where they are actually used.

Sometimes the answer is a simplified logo version, clearer typographic hierarchy or better templates. You do not need to replace the whole identity to solve each difficulty.

5. Your offer has changed, but your image does not reflect it

Perhaps you now provide an integrated service, work with larger companies or specialize in a particular area. If the change matters to your business, your messages and materials should make it clear.

Review what you say, what you show and how you organize information. On your website, that may mean rewriting service pages and making contact easier. On social media, it means choosing topics that demonstrate your experience through real examples.

A refresh does not always mean starting over

Before defining the scope, separate three questions: what do customers recognize, what no longer represents the company, and what is difficult to apply? This helps distinguish between organizing existing materials, updating an identity and rethinking positioning.

For Clínica Veterinaria Macul, Origami's work included a new identity, a brand manual and photography. The project shows how design extends to the team, uniforms and everyday communication. You can explore the Macul case in our portfolio.

How to put the change into practice

  1. Define the reason. Describe what has changed in your company and what you need to communicate better.
  2. Gather your current materials. Website, social media, presentations, quotations and printed materials.
  3. Agree on what to keep. Identify recognizable elements that are still useful.
  4. Prioritize applications. Start with the touchpoints that matter most to your customers.
  5. Prepare implementation. Organize files, responsibilities and dates so the new image reaches every channel.

The goal is an image that supports the work you do today. A well-planned refresh starts by understanding that need and defining a clear scope.
